My Background

From Delaware tracks to DC streets

I grew up running — not because anyone told me to, but because it made me feel alive. That love carried me to the University of Delaware, where I competed as a D1 athlete and learned what serious training actually looks like: the discipline, the mental grit, the joy that keeps you coming back even on the hard days.

After college, I realized the skills I'd built weren't just for elite athletes. Every runner — whether they're running their first mile or their fortieth marathon — deserves structured, thoughtful coaching that meets them where they are.

That's what brought me to coaching. I've been working with DC-area runners ever since, and there's nothing I love more than watching someone cross a finish line they didn't think was possible.

Coaching Philosophy

How I approach training

Three principles that shape every program I write and every conversation I have with athletes.

01

Consistency Over Perfection

The best training plan is the one you can actually stick to. We build habits, not just workouts — because showing up matters more than any single session.

02

Run with Joy

If running feels like punishment, something's wrong. I design training that challenges you AND keeps you loving the process. Hard days are good. Dread is not.

03

Progress is Personal

A 30-minute 5K PR is just as worth celebrating as a Boston qualifier. I measure success against your goals, your life, and your starting point — nobody else's.

The Podcast

Miles & Mindset

For a few years I hosted Miles & Mindset — a podcast about the mental and physical side of distance running. We covered training strategies, race-day nerves, injury comebacks, and the real stories of everyday runners doing extraordinary things.

The show is archived but every episode is still live. If you're new here, it's a great place to get to know my coaching voice.

Ready to run? Let's talk.

Tell me about your goals and we'll find the right way to work together.
